Who is the function
for?
Our Mental Wellbeing
and Access Function teams work closely with GPs and their team to provide a
service that is easily accessible for:
- People presenting with a mental health problem for the first time who need
more help than their GP can provide
- People who have previously used special mental health services and need
further help
- People experiencing common mental health problems
- People experiencing a potential first episode psychosis
What services do the
Mental Wellbeing and Access teams provide?
We provide services
that respond to the needs of each person, whether they are a new referral or
someone who has received care from us previously.
We offer specialist
assessment, consultation and advice between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and
link with our other network function teams to respond outside if these hours.
Our Specialist Teams
for Early Psychosis (STEP) focus on caring for people who are experiencing the
symptoms of psychosis for the first time. Typically, these are younger people
and the team work with each person to help them manage their symptoms and
support them in their daily lives.
In partnership with
a number of providers a range of Psychological Therapies depending on the needs
of each person. These will follow nationally agreed best practice and NICE and
CSIP guidance are best described.
